The Mickey Milers mission is to bring together a diverse group of runners who support each other as they train and participate in runDisney events, as well as other regional events throughout the year.
Mickey Milers will participate in a series of runDisney races, runDisney running related events and theme park/resort meet-ups throughout the year. As a component of team membership, we ask all Mickey Milers to raise a minimum of $50 but encourage team members to raise as much as possible to support Give Kids The World. Any cancellation on your part or runDisney/Walt Disney Company for any reason, will not result in a refund of any kind. Please fundraise in responsible, ethical and safe manner in which you may be proud of your efforts. We appreciate your support of this wonderful and meaningful cause to Give Kids The World.
Those who run as a Mickey Miler run as part of a virtual running team and serve to support the running community by always conducting themselves in a positive and respectful manner.
Mickey Milers Code of Conduct + Acknowledgement
By submitting the form below and joining the Mickey Milers, I agree to abide by the following:
Please read our Code of Conduct Form. We take everyone’s safety, well-being, comfort and enjoyment seriously. Print and keep this document for your records.
- Always show respect your fellow team members at all times, as well as other clubs’ and teams’ members.
- Always show respect and appreciation for the volunteers who give their time to help the team and/or event(s).
- Members should acknowledge the accomplishments and efforts of others, encouraging all teammates and opponents to excel whilst keeping in mind you represent the team as an ambassador to the community at large.
- Never yell, taunt, or threaten physical violence upon another member of the team, a volunteer or event spectator.
- Never use abusive or vulgar language, or make racial, ethnic, sexual-identity/preference slurs or gender-related slurs or derogatory comments at team events.
- Choose your words carefully! Refrain from talking negatively about other team members, other teams or in races, and on Internet chat rooms or blogs (even anonymously).
- If you have a disagreement with a teammate, solve it immediately and face-to-face.
- Never make unwanted sexual or physical contact with other members.
- Always report violations of the Member Code of Conduct policy to Mickey Milers Staff at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Encourage all athletes, teammates and opponents to excel.
- When and where possible, wear the team tech shirt at races.
- Overall, members shall conduct themselves in a manner that will ensure a comfortable, safe and welcoming team environment, allowing for the enjoyment of all members.
I agree that I am a member of Mickey Milers, which is a virtual running team. I know that running in and volunteering for organized group runs, social events, theme park touring and races with this team are potentially hazardous activities, which could cause injury or death. I will not participate in any team organized events or social events, unless I am medically able and properly trained, and in good health. I agree to abide by all rules established by the team, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the team, the official Code of Conduct form provided by Mickey Milers (AKA: Mickey Miles Podcast LLC) on their website, as explained to me, agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with being a member of this virtual team and participating in team activities which may include, but are not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road which may include; uneven terrain, slick or wet roadways, stairs, speed bumps, curbs, timing strips, potholes and gravel, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or roller blades and animals are not allowed to be used in team organized activities and I agree to abide by this rule. Having read this document and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my membership, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Mickey Milers, often participating in events in any Disney Parks & Resorts, all team sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation with the team, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record for any legitimate promotional purposes for the team.
In having reading this document, it is made clear that participating in fitness and athletic activities carries an inherent risk of injury, even if the greatest of care is exercised. Each participant must take individual responsibility for themselves to take all steps reasonably necessary to reduce the risk of injury; however, you acknowledge and accept that participants, walkers and runners, may injure themselves while participating in any of our activities and races which we attend, despite everyone’s best efforts to prevent such injuries. By participating in activities where members may gather, it is the individual members that assume all risk of personal injury, death, property loss or other damages that may relate to or result from or participating in our programs or activities. Therefore, you specifically and affirmatively waive, release and discharge us from any and all claims, causes of action, demands, liabilities or damages (including those relating to death, personal injury or property loss), present or future, known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated (collectively, “claims”), which you or your guests may suffer or incur as a result of participating in activities where Mickey Milers may be present. You also agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from any and all claims made by any person (including one of your guests) that relate to or arise from your participation in activities, which includes the obligation to pay all costs associated therewith, including attorney’s fees, investigation expenses, court costs, costs of settlement, and related amounts. For purposes of this document, “us” shall mean Mickey Milers and any of our affiliates, or the owners, officers, directors, members, governors, managers, employees, agents, and representatives of any of the foregoing entities.
All waivers, agreements, code of conduct documents, verbal instructions and rules of the Mickey Milers are superseded by runDisney®, The Walt Disney Company® and/or any external event waiver. Runners and spectators should refer to the aforementioned documents of runDisney® for complete and current documentation.
Mickey Milers reserves the right to amend the documentation set forth on this page, requirements for joining and revoke membership. Notifications will be made of such instances and it will be the member’s responsibility to stay informed.
Give Kids the World
You will be responsible for your membership fee of $50.00 and fundraising which will be directed through Mickey Milers page on Give Kids The World website. Mickey Milers Tech Shirt
The Mickey Milers Tech Shirt is coming soon! We will announce when we are ready to take orders for shirts– don’t worry, you won’t miss the announcement– we are pretty excited about it! We order our shirts through BRIGHT Running, designed and made in California.
Orders are scheduled to be placed four times a year, if we have enough orders needed to produce shirts. We will wait until we have enough orders to proceed with sending the shirts to production. With this in mind, please order the shirt at your earliest convenience to ensure that you have it for your race. Please only add your actual name or appropriate nickname to the back of this shirt.
